Day 4, Log 3 - Paranid Space

Paranid space is a gorgeous dusty orange colour, I love it!

There are a few factories here using ore, but only a few seem to be in short supply.  I've seen one mineral transporter, but that's it.  Who is keeping them in stock?  I haven't seen any mines around.

I hope someone isn't already shipping across from Argon space.  Not entirely sure how I'll monopolise it without the capital to buy it all up myself.

Hrrrmph.

Day 4, Log 2 - Punt Failed

Took a punt on some Silicon Wafers.  Silicon was going cheap at a mine in Power Circle, so I bought up and headed the freighter south to Argon Prime's Advanced Satellite Factory, which was offering double what I paid per unit.  The freighter has arrived, and someone has beaten me to it, stocking the factory with silicon wafers.

Now I'll be waiting for them to run low again so I can dump these for at least break-even (plus a little for opportunity cost).

Day 4, Log 1 - A New Hope

Greetings,

After a few days break, I return to continue earning my fortune.  A walk of 1,000 miles begins with a few steps.

First, a follow-up to my previous log.

My mission to tail a ship to a location and provide intel on a meeting failed.  Worried of getting too close, I strayed too far behind and my client ended the mission as he feared I had lost the trail after my target left my sector.  I knew which gate he had gone through, and my ship is significantly faster, but there's no arguing with these people.

Now?  I'm in Paranid space, seeing what they're short of.  If there's anything they're short of here that I can get in abundance back in the Federation, I'll start running freight across the pirate sector that separates our two empires.  It means I'll have to run defence for the freighters, but my new Discoverer Raider should be capable of that.  If only I could find weapons for it...

Day 3, Log 2 - Spreading the Word

I've started taking on some work to spread my name around as one of the trustworthy.  First mission: escorting four ships through to an adjacent system and their eventual docking.  I have no weapons on my ship, but it's Argon core territory, so it wasn't hard.  Saw a couple of Xenon N ships, which worried me, but the local authorities took care of them.  Mission completed, I'm now more trusted by the Argon.

Next mission: find someone who's been stealing information and selling it, and report their eventual location to my client.  This could turn ugly.

Aside, the ore redistribution in the Ore Belt system is going well.  Filled up the two processing plants and now I'm selling on to Plutarch Mineral HQ themselves.  I've made bank on this, and it's going to be used efficiently.

Day 3, Log 1 - Further Afield

Okay, phase two needs to start soon, so here's the plan:

  • Deliverator II (my second Mercury freighter), is running ore inside the Ore Belt, courtesy of Plutarch Mineral being unable to keep it flowing there;
  • The Deliverator (my original Mercury) lies idle a few systems north, awaiting spare cash, after a few upgrades were bought, to run either ore or eCells, whatever looks best at the time;
  • Me, I'm heading South through Elena's Fortune to see what lies there.  Hopefully, some very lucrative long-distance trade runs.
I should maybe upgrade the speed on my scout ship to make this easier, but I really need to hold on to cash as I could do with a life support extension to my cargo hold so I can start running people and livestock around for cash and to get my name around.  No way the Argon Federation will let me drop Ore Mines of my own unless they know I'm good for it.

Let's get started.

Day 2, Log 3 - A Brief Respite

No luck on the next golden egg.  I've bought a second hauler in anticipation.  I've found something to tide me over - a brief respite that improves my flagging ore trade for the time being.

I was originally going to get my second hauler running eCell trades for a bit of quick clean cash, but I've happened upon something curious.  I don't know if it's anything to do with that Kha'ak raid in Ore Belt, but Plutarch Mineral seem to be having trouble keeping the ore following within that system.  Both their ore mines are flush with the stuff, but the facilities needing it are dry.  I've got my second hauler in there now, picking up a lot for 50 credits a pop and about to drop it in the same system for 188.

Sweet deals.

I might have to go further afield to find the next bit of sustainable profit.

Signing off for the day.

Day 2, Log 2 - Information

I need more eyes on prices.  I've invested in an advanced satellite and deployed in the Red Light system.  This will let me see prices for that system in case I'm short on ore-buyers in Argon Prime and south.
